Selected Covers
To mark the centenary of Mrs Dalloway, NYRB commissioned me to create a new cover. The brief was to design something that is clearly within the NYRB Classics series, but also nods to the original Vanessa Bell-designed Hogarth Press dust jacket. I created a pattern using elements from a Vanessa Bell print for the cover.
The first three in a series of seven covers for the NYRB Classics reissues of Amit Chaudhuri’s novels. Chaudhuri wrote: “I think the covers are really wonderful, as I said to Edwin the moment I saw them - better than anything I might have dreamt up. My thanks and admiration to Zoe Guttenplan!”
